The queen of Punk

In the summer of 1987, the iconic German singer Nina Hagen, known as the Queen of Punk, was at the heart of one of the most curious, irreverent and endearing episodes in the history of the Rafael Verdera.
The artist married a young man from Ibiza in a celebration that lasted three days and combined punk excess with the magic of the Mediterranean. The most special moment took place on the second day, aboard the Rafael Verdera, sailing through the crystal-clear waters of Ibiza. There, on deck, surrounded by friends, musicians, artists and family, a colourful and intimate wedding ceremony took place, far removed from any protocol and imbued with a spirit as free as Nina herself. Outlandish outfits, real love and a sailing ship with more history than any church. At that moment, the Rafael Verdera became more than just a boat: a symbol of freedom, creativity and authentic living. Since then, its deck has been the setting for film shoots, private celebrations and unforgettable moments. But that day, with Nina, it was punk. It was poetry. It was Verdera.   The sailors still remember the extravagant outfits, the music drifting between the sails, and the magical contrast between the punk spirit and the calm of the Mediterranean. The Rafael Verdera, which already had more than a century of history at the time, was not merely a witness, but a protagonist. It was a setting, a floating altar and the temporary home of an unforgettable celebration. Long before experiential tourism became fashionable, the Verdera was already offering something different: truth. That truth you experience on deck, among ropes, wood and wind. A truth that, on that occasion with Nina, became history.
